(33,643 posts)White Stripes meets 'Brothers' era Black Keys meets the Delta Blues ... I like it. I'm always impressed when a two-piece manages to NOT miss ... a bass player. And I don't miss one TOO much here. There's parts where the singer/guitarist makes like he's also a bassist ... and then I don't ... but when he breaks into the soloing (which he shreds) I have to admit I kinda miss that third part ...
(edit: removed a sound quality complaint cause I'm dumb ...)
Thanks for sharin' GR ... I'ma check out more of their stuff ... I like it ... takes me back to the 70's, really ...
Hey, I got one for ya ... one of mah KEXP favorites ... this tune kicks some serious ass ... from one of my all-time favorite albums, which is rare from anything <10 years old or 20 ... I think you'll like ...

(33,643 posts)I REALLY wish I was that good at ... well, anything he's doing. Well, I could probably play the kick-drum that well if that was ALL I was doing ... but damn ... yeah. Dude kills it ...
Don't know if I'd enjoy a whole album's worth, but a song or two at a time, esp. on video, it's quite something to behold.
On his studio records, does he have other instruments or is it all kick/guitar/voice like this? Based on what he does here I'd be unsurprised if he couldn't also play at least decent drums and bass as well, so ... does he?
Page and Plant I think would be impressed ...
Edit: here's what a nerd I am, was reading his wiki and it makes mention of his selection of a 'band' name, and it says ...
One afternoon while listening to the album, "LOVE" by The Cult, Crase came up with the name Reignwolf when he noticed the track listing on the back of the album cover which features the song "Mother Wolf" listed right above the song "Rain."
and I immediately thought man, someone needs to fix that ... cause that song is called Brother Wolf/Sister Moon ... I know that record like the back of my damn hand ... I LOVED it back at the time. In retrospect, nowadays, it's awfully repetitive and most songs are at least 1 minute too long ... but there's 2 legit great songs on it ... Rain and She Sells Sanctuary ... and the rest is solid, if unspectacular. But I still love the nostalgia value ... esp. 'Revolution' for some reason ... it's really not that great of a song but I still love it.
Edit 2: I also like that he's on Stardog Records ... have to think that's a Mother Love Bone-inspired name ...

(33,643 posts)He's like some kind of freak, I swear ... I'm pretty floored. Almost talking Prince-level musical talent here, and I've never said that about anyone.
His version of FM's 'The Chain' on KEXP is brilliant .. playing the electric uke ... and that other 'Jet City' vid of Electric Love where he gets behind the drum kit and plays drums and guitar at the same time (guitar with one hand, drums with the other hand + foot ... which kinda sounds impossible ... turns out ... no) you seen that one?
