Music Appreciation
Related: About this forumCrutchez Cuibono posted a cool old tune and it sparked a memory, a false memory it turns out...
I had it in my mind that "Ride Captain Ride" was Seatrain, but it obviously was not...
So, off I go to youtube for a Seatrain refresher.
These guys were in my box of road trip 8track tapes, and I had a couple LPs back in the day, but I was never an obsessive fan.
It seems that over the years I misremembered them so badly that I couldn't even recognize 'em... Sorry guys.

I believe you are correct about the musicians - I think the fiddle through a distortion and wah wah peddle was the reason IO latched on to this band in the 70s
But somewhere along the line I just kept the name in my mind and lost all the details...

(86,765 posts)back then and in a garage band that played around the area. Peter Rowan is a New Englander. They are very popular in the Bluegrass/Folk circles. I have some of their early solo albums. Peter Rowan was one of Bill Monroe's Bluegrass Boys, I don't recall Richard Greene's background.
I sing some of their music with my Bluegrass buds.

(86,765 posts)I think that's Richard Greene and Peter Rowan as the guitar and violin players. I saw the at Lenny's on the Green in Danvers decades ago.
now I'll go check.
