A few photos from my 3 hour walk today.

Did I mention I walked for 3 hours? Around a golf course; dodging slices and other assorted mis-hits. (Well, I assume it wasn't intentional)

Anyway...

A little fall color

A fallen tree limb I named 'Roger Rabbit'

Two-Flowered Cynthia (in the Aster family)

Gulf Fritillary abusing a flower

Eastern Fox Squirrel (I really, really want to rub his orange tummy)

Tree canopy while I was resting.

Turkey Vultures circling overhead.

Buckeye

I was trying to get a better look and closer shot of this

(some variety of Orb Weaver)

When the damn thing unfurled and scampered my way. ( I almost came out of my bloomers) He took shelter under a leaf.

And some black acorns from my backyard

We do have the occasional golfer keel over.

just like the Dandelions around here. We don't call them flowers, we call them weeds.

8. They do look alike and it is easy to confuse the two.

The TFC's also have a puffy seed stage. I just recently learned the difference. (the lighter yellow stringy follicles, for one...fewer of them...the stem is different and the blooms branch)

I have to see them side by side, though, to actually see the differences. Otherwise, they all look like common Dandelions to me.

The TFC's is also called the "Two-flower Dwarf-dandelion"...(checking my notes from yesterday)

Oh, and Dandelions are also in the Aster family (Asteraceae)

So, basically, they are the same and maybe the differing names are regional?

along on your walk. I've been a little (ahem) absent from this group lately. Taking work photos and although fun and challenging, haven't had enough time to take "MY_ME" type (okay selfish here) photos.

That said, your photos are very nice. I can just picture you (well okay me too), camera in hand, snapping away! Fun, fun times!

I like it when you share your walking to work photos.

I went out today looking for another orb weaver and found one. I wanted to be braver than I was yesterday. lol

I decided a while back to try and learn about some of things I shoot. I'm getting old..hopefully, it helps with the mind staying somewhat active.

I also fantasized in my mind, hiding in a wooded area, waiting for a ball to land close by, running out and removing said ball then sitting back in the underbrush giggling with glee as the arrive and spend 20 minutes looking for the ball.

Not that I would do that but my evil twin would.

15. Teehee! We actually did watch a man look for his lost ball. (water)

We saw the ball coming and watched it hit and roll into the water. I'm in Louisiana - a ball lost in the water is a ball not worth trying to find. He kept saying he saw it land on the bank and we told him it hit the water. He didn't believe us.
