...has not been taken yet. As I continue to learn, hone my skills in the field and the studio and with post processing, I am sure to surpass anything I've done so far.
That said, let me see the absolute BEST photo YOU have ever taken. I think, for me, this ranks up there as one of the best in my portfolio (by "portfolio", I mean my disorganized collection of processed photographs scattered among the contents of external drives and SD cards):

(12,870 posts)That's a tough assignment. My thousands of photos (almost all scenery) were taken with point & shoot cameras, or android phone. Also, in more than 20 years at DU I've never posted one of my photos. I had to find the "how to" thread, so hopefully this works:

Well, that didn't work. The link will take you to the pic, but the image didn't download in the text of this post.
Anyway, it's not among the more scenic photos among my albums but it captured a moment of human interest with a father coaching his very young son how to climb at Anglin Falls, Kentucky. Photo of the falls is in the link below.

(9,865 posts)you need to start posting your photos here.
i couldn't figure out how to access the direct link of your photos to post here so the photo would show up in-line. it's possible that shutterfly only allows the account owner to do that.

(17,298 posts)I noticed the shadow were particularly interesting. For reference, I am 5 ft tall and Diego is only about 13 pounds. Technique is beyond amateur but the composition is interesting, I think 🤨

(3,234 posts)the photographer's skill, not the subject. The space you left at the top makes the elongation more dramatic. The shadows have room to breath.

(9,865 posts)do you process your phone shots in the phone with software on the phone or export to Ps or something?
urbanhermit
(751 posts)I was just playing around with new software. The sky was no where near that dramatic. I ended up placing in a public lands photo contest and won some cool swag. This is in Southern Idaho where the California trail splits from the Oregon trail. My wife's family settled the area.

(9,865 posts)...that it was processed, but it was done so tastefully. i love every detail, including the bird sitting on the wagon.

No treatment or enhancement (we wouldn't have the slightest idea how). Just straight from her phone to my email.

(3,234 posts)This one's not good enough, but it's fitting for a discussion board such as DU. This is from the Immigrants' March, February 5, 2017, in Harrisburg, PA. The pointing man is activist/artist Gene Stilp. He made the statue and is known famously for building and placing a replica of the Statue of Liberty on a pier in the Susquehanna River north of Harrisburg. He arrived at the march in a big red pickup truck on which was mounted an oversized screw replica that read "Screw Trump." I took a photo that I might post. He also ran and lost for state representative in 2014.

(54,405 posts)It isn't even sharp, but we were in an old bar/café I used to hang out at when I was living in Spain in my teens.
In 1998, 30 years later, when we were 46, I took my wife there, and lo and behold, the same guy was still running it. Even though she speaks no Catalan, my wife was having a great time, and I got this one shot of her that just really reflected her true inner nature. It was always my favorite photo of her:
