Air Force 1, a sample

President Biden was in Tampa Thursday.

For arrival, which was over in a matter of seconds, I took about 35 frames.

For departure, I got my first chance to use the Z6ii under do or die conditions, which resulted in some dramatic shots, From my vantage point the plane looped around me for what seemed an eternity, although at 5nm which really put the resolution of camera and 200-500 to the test. Using a 3 shot burst per press, I took 165 frames, only twice maxing out the buffer, lol. Here is an example, see a few of what I have completed at the link below. This gallery will eventually contain all my AF-1 photos, even from the previous occupant.

But for today, with a real President on board.

The white is a nice contrast to the plane, makes it stand out.

And the dramatic cloud formations give the shot gravitas, befitting a presidential plane.

They went through 3 distinctly different cloud backgrounds and I will be adding some of the others later, but this one was by far the most dramatic

How did you manage to take a picture that looks like you're flying alongside AF1. How is that accomplished?

Thanks.

Excellent choice of framery*. The larger space in front of the plane gives the impression of speeding along, into a future and leaving a forgettable past. Cool statement.

* My totally made-up word. Today only $2.00 per usage per person per tense. Yeah, it's got tense, too.

window frames! Of course, we can't see anyone or any controls, but it is a dynamic shot!

I have come to call this "flying without flying" when it appears I am at the same altitude as the subject. The subject is in fact banking slightly which puts the wings in my plane of view, no pun intended. Another recent post with the same effect:

The choppers fly over our house whenever the President visits L.A. I've managed to photograph them a few times. We heard Jill Biden fly over the evening of the Grammys.
