Just watched the training film and was totally inspired by the message.

Yes, be open to the possibilities!! And photography has taught me that. My best shots are the ones that I do not expect.

I read a column of his in OP a couple of years ago where he was talking about his project to post a photo a day on his Facebook page. I sent him an email that I was doing the same thing and gave him the link to my SmugMug gallery. Much to my surprise, he wrote me back, complimented me on my work and told me which shots he particularly liked. I was so surprised that he took the time to look at my pictures, much less write me back. I was pleased when he decided to start this group.

Your photo a day is pretty amazing. I'm not that dedicated at this point. However, I will try to take the message with me to celebrate something every day. I can imagine that being a National Geographic photographer would help lead one to a very special place.
