My God, it's full of stars

The weather isn't going to cooperate and let me get the shot I wanted for this month's contest but I did manage to get a couple of a local pond at five am, those are the actual stars reflected in the water and if you look closely you can see the mist rising toward the far side. That's not the sunrise, it's light pollution reflected off thin clouds.

The scene itself was quite ethereal but I failed to capture it to my satisfaction, the pond was so still it really did look full of stars, there's a lot more in the original images but shrinking them to 800 width just wiped out most of the fainter ones.

90 seconds at f2.0 and ISO 800, Canon S90.

It seems like it was a magical view. Almost feel the expectation of something happening all around you.

I'm developing a real love for night shots. They take a little more planning, but the results are awesome. I really like the mist rising here in your photos.
