It looks like a child's toy from the top, showing the metal outline. But one end looks like an airplane and the other end looks like a car!

I've taken shots of this toy in profile and wasn't satisfied with the results. The overhead shot shows the symmetry and beauty of the aerodynamic design. The science of aerodynamics was used to design aircraft and that carried over into the designing of cars, trains and even buildings. The toy belonged to my father when he was a child.

It looks like the designer borrowed some of its looks from the Chrysler Airflow cars of the 1930s and perhaps even some from Buckminster Fullers' Dymaxion.
