I have a video question

I took a few minutes of video of the birds at my feeders to post for Solly Mack but it seems like it takes forever to upload them to PhotoBucket or YouTube. Do you just have to go away for a while and wait for it to finish or is there some way to speed up the process? It wasn't very long, maybe three or four minutes.

Maybe closing everything down but the upload? Any extra open screens, etc. Solly Mack Feb 2013 #1

I'll give it a shot. It's not the best quality video in the world (I am -- or was -- a video virgin), but I think you'll like it.

an 4-5 minutes video to youtube last year, it was going to take hours on my friends dsl, so I went to my high speed charter and it still took a good half hour to an hour, I don't recall.

I might set up another day with the tripod so there's not all the camera shake (although I will post this today so you can see these). Plus I could go inside while they're being filmed, and they wouldn't be scared off with me being out there. There aren't nearly as many in this video as there are when no one's outside to disturb them. Normally, they're just falling all over each other in both feeders. I can't remember seeing this many redpolls in years past, but I read there is an "irruption" of them this year.

We also had a flock of Bohemian waxwings here yesterday, but they didn't stick around very long. They used to feed on the berries of my late, great Mayday tree.

It occurs to me that I could get some nice panoramic videos from my sunset viewing spot. I always have such a hard time capturing the whole view even with my most wide angle lenses.

Last year they fed at the berry shrubs behind my house and this year they only seem to be coming and going. I see them in my neighbor's tree in the early evening.

Haven't seen a Bohemian Waxwing in real life.

Can you capture stills from video? (for the panoramic view) Bet they'd be beautiful.

and there have been major sightings of them here this year; our house just isn't attractive to them now that the berries are gone. It makes me want to plant a mountain ash just to bring them back.

I'm pretty sure you can capture stills from the video, but it's beyond my skill set right now. For that matter, I could do a panoramic stitch thing but I've been too lazy to figure out how to do it.
