this weekend I went to the motogp grand prix of the americas motorcycle races in austin. its the first motor race ive been to. it was amazing watching bikes lean over to just inches above the ground and fly down the track at almost 200mph.
i shot over 2k pictures in 3 days but managed to edit that number down. the bikes where moving so fast i had to shoot in continous high speed mode just to catch a couple in the frame

(20,886 posts)When things are going that fast, I'd be thrilled just to get something in frame.

(5,113 posts)to get the bike in focus and the crowd blurred but no luck. i dont have the technique down and trying to learn it at 200 mph wasnt such a great idea

(60,075 posts)the Formula 1 race later this year. Now if you can snag some press credentials...
Like NASCAR, the action is in the pits. Unlike NASCAR, the pit stops only last under 3 seconds. Practice and qualifying might be good to catch. Movement around the grounds might be easier those days.
The 1 corner to the next is a classic moto photo. It's such a graceful sport.

(5,113 posts)im talkign to them on wendesday about season tickets. there is another race next month (v8 supercars??????) but i dont know a thing about them (or racing in general)
if we get the tickets they will be right in a corner. our tixs for teh motogp were in the grandstand near the finish line but we found them pretty boring so we roamed the grounds instead and finally sat in the grass near a corner
