I rarely wander in there anymore. My refuge is the Lounge but I love it here too of course. Coming to like it more and more here the more photography I do. Good to hear you have a safe refuge from GD.

I've definitely gotten more serious about photography in the last couple of years, I'd been away from it for awhile. I enjoy getting inspiration from seeing other people's work, listening to constructive criticism and suggestions, and just generally not worrying about the rest of the world for a little while.

for me and one that has taught me so much. Very rarely does anyone try to disrupt here. Has happened but the whole group tends to shut it down pretty fast by explaining what and who we are.

I've had one alert in the past year and I choose to believe it someone that was very unfamiliar with the group and how laid back we are so didn't know any better.

all the advice. Some photography sites I have been to have the same curmudgeons you find everywhere that seem to take pleasure in criticizing photographs rather than being helpful. You don't see that here. This is a place where you are encouraged to strive for a better shot.
A wonderful place.
