Where Can I Take Old Negatives to Have them Printed?

So,I'm going through stuff in the the old spare bedroom today. We have boxes of old negatives. These date back to the 1950's and go up to the mid 1990's. I've decided to make this a project. This is going to take lots of time and I'm going to give a little bit towards this every weekend between now and next summer. My question is this. Where can I take these old negatives and have prints made of them? Some are the size of a thumb nail. Others the size of a postage stamp and others are 3x3 squares.

Obviously, they are all gonna be different sizes once printed so instead of a photo album I will probably buy some nice photo boxes to store them. Many I've never seen before,so it's kind of exciting. It's just that I can't take them down to my local CVS or Walgreens and have them copied. More than likely I'll have to send them to a photo lab that specializes in this sort of thing (which I fear may end up costing me a fortune, which is why I am looking to do a little at a time)

Anyone have any suggestions on where to take them?

Oh, and I also have old 8MM and 16 MM film home movies I'm going to want to convert to DVD.

My brother just had a bunch of 50-year-old ones from our family converted, and they look great. Not sure about negatives, but they can also do slides.

There are a lot of places that can scan and print if you can't do the scanning yourself.

I think I am assuming this is gonna be a bigger project than it actually is. Yeah, it's gonna take time, which I don't mind. I was just afraid this was all gonna cost me a fortune all at once. Thanks again for the advice. Really appreciate it!

And I would trust a big box store with old negatives about as much as I would trust a donkey to ride a unicycle.
