Inspiration is everywhere

I was part of a discussion about a new app that is supposed to inspire photographers when they're stuck. Honestly I thought it was kind of a silly idea since photography is such a visual process and all one has to do is walk out your door and you'll find something without the need of an app.

This afternoon I was proven wrong, I didn't even have to get off my butt to be inspired, I was checking Facebook on my phone as I was laying on the couch with my dog in my lap and when I looked up the light was hitting her just right so without moving I pulled up my favorite camera app and shot.

Shot with Pure on an iPhone, edited with Snapseed and Geló.

So much for an inspiration app.

I've learned, as you point out, that I can 'find what to take a picture of' no matter where I am. When you're in that mindset everything seems to work out.

I do run into periods where I get very sloppy. Not sure if an app would help me out when I get in a funk where I look at every picture I take as crap.

Great looking puppy (I call all dogs puppies).

When I run into those sloppy moments that's when I go back to film, nothing makes one slow down and take a breath like a film camera.

I think where they took the most exception is when I said a a collection of canned inspiration will certainly make a fine cliche incubator.
