try the "Lunar 11" guideline:
- set the ISO to something low
- aperture at f/11
- shutter speed at "1 / ISO"

The amount of control over the camera by the industry has increased greatly over the last year or two.

In this case, you want the camera to think it is taking a picture in the bright sunlight.
