(22,756 posts)has me out on the streets of Brooklyn everyday... I just need to find the time to get that 'right' one... sometimes it a tough call between graffiti and 'wall art'... is there a difference??

(28,477 posts)To me, graffiti is mostly tagging. Then there's what I call spontaneous street art - that is, art that's been put on a wall and is probably not condoned by the wall's owner(s). Banksy falls into that category. Then there are murals - either commissioned by businesses or community organizations, or at least done with their approval. I'm not sure which one the OP falls into, but given its elaborate nature, I feel like it's either been commissioned or approved by the building's owner(s) so wouldn't actually qualify as graffiti in my book. But maybe it counts for the contest?

(31,392 posts)we were stuck in traffic for a few seconds and I pulled my camera out quick just waiting to get a little down time so I can actually 'plan' a shot... so much to work with here

(18,636 posts)..and I love graffiti.
As a uniquely urban artform, I stand in awe at the talent which I so seldom get to experience. One of the favorite parts of my cross country train ride to NYC for New Years Eve several years ago was entering the city's network of underpasses beginning in Philli, each one a huge canvas of color and imagination.
Nice catch. K&R
