I'm not usually in front of the camera, but I kind of like this pic that HullBoss took of me up in Nome.

(46,436 posts)Not so much temperature-wise (although 5-10 degrees isn't really warm) but the wind was unrelenting except for a couple of brief breaks when it snowed. It's part of what made the last leg of the race so difficult for the mushers, especially the ones at the front. Glare ice and 30 mph winds make it hard to keep a sled upright.
Of course, the week after we got back, the temperature moderated up into the 20s and 30s. It never fails.

(46,436 posts)He'll be fine. That's an absolutely gorgeous area. Is he a photographer? If he is, he'll love it. Seward, which is a semblance of civilization, is close by.
