Related: About this forumIdeas for May challenge
I want us to start thinking about May. I have 2 ideas and will take more from the group and put them together in a poll in a couple of days.
Here are mine:
Looking Up. Either nature or architectural photos.
In the Abstract. Something real that looks abstract, in nature or architecture.

the ancient Greek goddess of the earth, in honor of Mother's Day.
An extrapolation on the concept of Gaia might be literal or spiritual and could run the gamut from goddess to the environment; from implied mother/child symbolism to balance as expressed through cohesive organic/nonorganic interrelationships.
Gaia in photography would be wide open to interpretation.

(22,380 posts)Just for consideration: I'm in favor of easy to grasp concepts until we have gotten our mojo back and no longer have to struggle to fill the 30 entries again. I want to attract new participants if possible.

(53,957 posts)Using various clichés or expressions as the inspiration. It leaves it open for creativity. I saw a pic the other day of a "needle in a haystack" and I thought, "that's really neat!"
Or, in a similar suggestion to the above about Gaia (I have a fondness for Greek myths), what about "Mother May I?", pictures of mothers or motherhood.
And I will add, as I always do when asked about these contests...mythology.
