(And mom and dad, too, of course.) I have to be satisfied with these photos from Kristina. The kids may be coming up to Alaska to visit the end of summer, and I will definitely be going down there in October, but it's just not enough.

Beth is married and lives in the San Diego area; Kendall goes to college in the same area and comes home on quarter breaks, but she got a paid internship this summer, so we won't see her.

I'll grant that we're still close enough that trips down there are relatively frequent.

I think I'm still trying to grasp how adult they've become; Beth is a fledgling doctor, and Kendall will soon be a CPA.

To quote the infamous Mattie Ross: "Time just gets away from us."
