The software is still installed on your computer. Your pictures stay on your computer.

Photoshop is now subscription only as far as I can tell.

If you are OK with software as a subscription, the bundle of Lightroom + Photoshop for $10 per month is a hard deal to beat.

Gimp (free)

Perfect Photo Suite (the Perfect Effects module is free, and may be all you need)

I use Perfect Photo Suite for most things. If I need to use other Adobe products, I go back to an old computer running CS4. I refuse to pay a monthly bribe to Adobe.

resize and tweaking the levels a bit. LightZone is a hoot too, but I am so used to GIMP, and have learned, to some extent, how to use it.

I'm not a pro, not an artist, so spending money on a tool I don't need is silly.

Not a fan of Adobe. I used it, lost it, and don't miss it.

It is a pixel editor similar to Photoshop and uses most of the same plug-ins.

Corel also has a digital asset manager similar to Lightroom, but I don't know much about it.

a great alternative to Photoshop. I've used it for many years, back when V3 came out. It was a free photo editor then. I have to admit that although I'm now using 13X now, I am still learning the many features it offers.

You download your software and it works exactly as it did before, they are installed on your computer, you can work in offline mode for 90 days when you do a yearly subscription and 30 on a monthly but as soon as you are online it basically hits the reset button.

You should go to the FAQ page it will help with any question you have

Mac or Windows. No gimmicks, really. It's what I did in order to get a Windows version (I already had Mac version). It works fine!

I have Photoshop Express that is a simple editing app. There are many out there.

I uses SnapSeed, Photocopier, LensLight, Moku HD, InstaFusion. These are all apps. I have an iPad, somI don't know what's out there for other tablets but there are probable similar programs.

Some are free, some cost a couple of dollars.
