A young bull and another female were on the other side of the trail here, but behind some trees so I couldn't get a good shot.

Or are they normally not aggressive?

(46,436 posts)They're pretty used to people here in town and generally ignore us. The only time they're really unpredictable is in the spring when the babies are little, and the males sometimes get kind of hyper in the fall when the hormones are pumping.

I took some pictures of some local fauna today, also. Squirrels! We are kindred spirits!

(46,436 posts)But not as close as I've been other times. I used a 50 mm lens on the 7D.
I love squirrels, but the one that lived by us for years has disappeared. I fear he succumbed to something.

(46,436 posts)but I've got everything in from my garden - three nice, hard red cabbages and a bunch of kale. It tastes so good. I forget -- are you in Fairbanks?
This moose is along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail, very near Earthquake Park.
