(130,956 posts)My Dad stayed in NY as long as he could, and after 20? years in Florida, moved to IOWA!!! to be with my brother for his final years. And he planted stuff there, a real peasant!
It is a lovely neighborhood, near the 'old' Walter Reed. I can't stand driving past our house. Too many memories. But driving around today was nice,

(130,956 posts)I deliberately drove past the several streets I recall having great color as well as canopies. There is lots of space in my territory, quite broad, 120 miles between my residences, so I keep my camera with me!

(90,769 posts)And the other can be avoided by avoiding warm freshwater lakes/rivers and not using Neti Pots with tap water. People have actually died from it....the amoeba. (2 in Louisiana)
