A very active bird feeder! All focal lengths are 35 mm equivalent.

It's a swingin' party! When this many dove arrive at the feeder it swings pretty wildly. 600mm f8 125.

Whitewing Dove. 1200mm f8 125 from a monopod

Plain Titmouse @ 1200 mm

Not sure what this one is but I'll find it in Audobon's field guide.

I'm lovin' the 75-300 m.zuiko! 35 equivalent of 150-600 and the electronic 2x makes it 300-1200 but it only weighs 2 lbs with camera!

but I am not talented enough, nor do I have the equipment, to get such great shots.

BTW, that last one is an American Goldfinch. At this time of year, I cannot tell the sex, but wait a few months and you will be sure to know. And it is not a "plain" titmouse, it is a Tufted Titmouse. So now you don't have to look it up.

and think tufted and crested may be interchangeable terminology depending on the guide. I use Audobon's and Peterson's and sometimes see differences like that.

Technology makes things possible that once were impossible. Having made 1000s if Kodachrome 64 exposures at 600mm f8 from a canoe I can tell you that only one in 10 didn't show camera movement.

The biggest issue with very long lenses is that over distance atmospheric turbulence makes sharp images very difficult regardless of the quality of glass. These were all shot at about 15'.

Thanks for the reminder; just ran over to the window, and adjusting to new lens in eye, and shooting w glasses, but here is my neighbor!

It took me about 10 days to fully recover and for the strong cyan cast to go away. Now it's great! 20-20 distance on right eye, 20-20 reading in the left.

Maybe now you can get the horizon straight on your sunsets . . .

I do it on level ground. I even have the grid turned on in my view finder and still can't get the picture level. Maybe my brain is just short legged.

Only got left eye done, which was the problem 'halo' eye, and got a 'distance' lens. Hadn't worn glasses for reading, but do now. Things looked bright pretty quickly, no problem with colors. May get right eye done some time, surely if halos appear.

Horizon a matter of remembering to lift my elbow!
