I am just a winner, and will do the best I can in getting things off the ground here for the next go 'round of the Photography group monthly contest. Please chime in at any time, preferably, sending a PM, if you have words of advice or input. All will be much appreciated.
So...
My first thought is to have the theme of Color Riot, or Chaos of Color, to blast color all over the contest.
Seems so Spring appropriate
But, along with that, would love your ideas for the next contest, and then I will post a poll by mid-week.
So, post here because I know that all of you very talented people have photos to share, ideas to explore, and that is one of the main reasons why I love this group.
Spring is upon us! Let's celebrate!

(2,825 posts)I'm thinking of the time a wonderful photo was posted here of an interesting rock formation, and then another poster said it looked like a wonderful, fun place for a child to hide.
All the other little places in nature--holes and crevices in stumps and trees, ferns, tall grasses. Then when I see those photos of moss and mushrooms that people from the Northwest have posted , I can't help but think of fairies and gnomes. LOL
My brother has a small little pond and waterfall which he built right near his walkway. Lots of moss and small vegetation. When I walk by, suddenly I will hear "plop-splash"--it was frogs hiding in clear sight, totally camouflaged.
I think children and cats might be the true experts at finding hiding places, and sadly, the homeless .

(21,236 posts)I like it, could be pretty broad, and challenging.
Not sure how to define it as a simple explanation if it is chosen.
Anyway to succinctly define the terms?..and the title? (like Hide Here!...maybe?)

(2,825 posts)The hider, whether animal ,bird, insect, or human, could be shown, but certainly doesn't have to be. Camouflage can play into this but now I am probably making this more complicated.

Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers.
