sigma 120-300 plus a 2x teleconverter
used my d600 in crop sensor mode so its the equivalent of a 900mm telephoto
tripod,remote release and mirror lockup

i went on a photography cruise with some nat geo photogs a few years ago and learned their requirements
basically very little editing/no cropping
