The columbines

I'm sure I've mentioned here that the columbines in my garden are my favorites. I took a bunch of pictures of them today, so here are a few. I'll post more tomorrow.

These came up in the garden along the fence with the bleeding hearts. I don't remember ever planting them, and I don't think they were there last year, so they must have blown in or been dropped by a bird.


This is another volunteer. I have several of these around the grounds and I have no idea where they came from. This one is along the edge of my vegetable garden. I didn't have the heart to move it.


These are the columbines in the corner by the rhubarb, roses and strawberries.


This is another one that I don't remember seeing before. It's growing outside the flower bed in the rocks.


These are small white columbines growing in the shade with the hostas.

I recall that "Columbine" was the name Eisenhower gave to his plane before Pres. planes were called Hoppy Jun 2015 #1

I wouldn't have the heart to pull them up either!

They really add something special to your garden...
