Related: About this forumJust saw the Helmut Newton exhibit in Paris.
The photos were amazing - especially seeing some of his nudes printed on very large paper.
His Polaroid work was interesting and his portraits very strong.
Some quotes from Newton.
"I am a professional voyeur."
and paraphrased:
"I'm not an artist, I'm a hired gun.
I shoot what I see, no retouching, no Photoshop.
I use the simplest equipment possible."
All food for thought.

(8,754 posts)A magazine hired me to put acupuncture needles in a model he was shooting. He took a Polaroid of me and signed it. Sadly some ink spilled on it and ruined it for the most part. It was a long time ago and I sadly didn't really fully know who he was at the time.
