The columbines are so beautiful. I have mostly blue ones, so that is quite a treat to see.

The the second shot, the white peony with the yellow and red columbines, is gorgeous. Great texture and composition!

How long do they take to bloom? I planted some last autumn, but moved them early this spring. They're pretty tiny and didn't bloom. I was hoping they'd take this year because I won't be living here next year.

but they bloomed the year I planted them, if I remember right, or at least the next year. That being said, I have this other one that didn't bloom for almost 10 years, then suddenly started blooming last year and this year has 12 buds on it.

The one thing I did different was put bone meal around it. You might try that. Also they like a fair amount of sun.
