(46,436 posts)2. This was another instance of the moose being a little too close for comfort.
It was right off the trail, about five feet away from me. We definitely made eye contact.
Something interesting that was reported on the news the other night - the city moose like this one have a different DNA profile than the moose who live out in the wild. I think one of the traits that has been eliminated is fear of humans.

I hear stories of them walking around towns, minding their own business.

. We had an instance here where a lady moose became enamored with a life-sized sculpture of a bull on the grounds of the Alyeska Resort. It was kind of sad.
