(90,773 posts)In my twenties I monitored Klan rallies held in the town I was living in at the time. Neo-Nazis marched with them during one rally. One time they (KKK) went to local housing in a predominately black neighborhood and it got real ugly.
I usually kept a proper distance to observe but once got into a shouting match with a skinhead. Observers weren't meant to engage but rather watch for trouble and note the notable, i.e. known names in attendance.

(90,773 posts)because the idiots come after anyone with a camera.
The last one, with the cameraman making adjustments (or so it seems....maybe he's using his cell phone camera), is great because it is an African-American man between the protestors/counter-protestors....and everyone appears to be calmly waiting for him to do his job. Almost like a détente.

(60,074 posts)It's been that way for a long time.
I was making no value judgement, just reporting what I read and remembered from years ago.
I wouldn't want my daughter to marry one, if I had a daughter.
Anyway the images were very good, and I'm glad there were people standing up to hate.

(60,074 posts)The Swastika has multiple meanings. The Buddhist Temple nearby has Swastikas on their gate. The arms face opposite to those used by Hitler.
