(90,769 posts)In the happy rather than the none left alone and got more problems than a math professor kind of way.
As you can tell, I'll never write the great American blues song.

(149,627 posts)You take great pictures instead!
I love your contest submission, though I admit the title puzzled me...It IS a beautiful shot.

(90,769 posts)Johnny Mercer, who wrote the lyrics, said the huckleberry friend was someone he knew from childhood who picked huckleberries with him. The crayons are a childhood thing, and the colors are arranged in the color order, more or less, of a rainbow. Though indigo actually is next to the violet of the rainbow, I stuck it at the end because indigo summers are the summers of childhood that stay in the memory. Or so my Mom always said.
Sort of whimsical nostalgia.
Thanks, CaliforniaPeggy !
Now tell me about your flower, please. It's a beautiful shot of a beautiful flower.

(149,627 posts)I don't remember much about that picture, sorry to say. I took it on our trip to Iceland back in 2011(?). I believe they were flowers in someone's front yard. And that's all I remember!
Thanks for liking it!
It's on YouPic too.

(18,219 posts)I did so many photos of "blue" and just could not decide which direction to go. I had fun with this theme, even though I had a hard time finding blue at first. And to think that I didn't feel that I could find any blue!

(18,219 posts)I had wanted to use a garden ornament, but I just didn't get any pictures that I really liked no matter where I situated it. But it is such a funny little object.

(22,380 posts)let me tell you where I am.
I took a road trip with 2 wonderful neighbor friends of mine, to NOLA Louisiana, and we travel cheap and share what's needed.
Took this photo on Bourbon Street, or a nearby neighboring one, just today.
Both my guy traveling companions thought the name and photo appropriate when I presented it, so that's how it happened.
We are here for the "Running of the Bulls, NOLA" and it has been a heckofa day. Photos are downloaded and will be presented.

(8,308 posts)I've been a member for over 10 years and I've always watched the Photography Group because I love looking at other peoples' pictures. When I saw that the subject was Blue, I just had to share this one with you all. This was my getaway spot for many years. High north so lots of snow. Sometimes the sky would get so blue it reflected off the snow and this was one shot I managed to capture that in. Picture is not altered in any way, just taken on a little Kodak Easy Share which I am sad to say no longer exists since I dropped it on cement.
Thanks, rdking, for choosing such a lovely theme that has brought out some terrific photos for all to enjoy.

(31,391 posts)These are two blue views I considered-- taken at the same resort-- but rejected in favor
of peek-a-blue.

There was a group of sunfish sailboats out racing late in the afternoon--it was really windy--and many of these guys were tipping over
and climbing back in to continue racing back to port.

It is amazing to watch how the light changes in a situation like that where you can
repeat the photo at different times of day and with different cloud conditions. Thanks, Monet!

(19,374 posts)I used to just play four strings and my main working bass was a Fender American Standard P-Bass Deluxe. Along the way I acquired a cheap Squire five string to play around on and liked having the low B so last winter I bought the blue one. It's a G&L L-2500. Has both an active and passive circuit and the ability to split the humbucker coils for parallel and series. G&L stands for George (Fullerton) and Leo (Fender). After selling Fender to CBS in 1965, Fender went on to help launch the Music Man instrument company in the early 70's. In 1979 he and George met and formed G&L. Many of the features incorporated in the G&L guitars and basses are designs that Leo came up with.
Interesting side note on Leo Fender is that while he is considered one of the most influential people in the history of amplified guitars, he never learned to play the guitar himself!

(1,771 posts)Nor did I know the G&L brand. I played Bass a million years ago and then CRS set in. I'm looking to get back into playing Bass and have been looking at a few 5-Strings. 2nd and Charles has a couple used in very good condition but from what I read I think the G&L L-2500 has some wonderful audio qualities. Will have to see if there is a music store locally where I can go play around with it.
Thanks so much for the info.
