Lorikeets

I just felt the need to post these pictures of these beautiful birds I took these earlier this year, at the Long Beach Aquarium. I apologize for not showing them in the wild but I would have had to travel to Australia for that! And sorry for so many pictures...but there was some drama involved. I wasn't so close as it seems, I was about ten feet away and zoomed in. And cropped!

This one was very photogenic. At first!

I took these with the Nikon I bought from NVwhino...what a difference from my old Sony! I like the sharpness in detail..

Interesting how birds seem to change their expression just by cocking their head...

I think he/she is wondering whether or not I'm going to feed him/her...

Okay he definitely looks annoyed so I'll back off...

CHIRP! (or TWEET!) sorry buddy I'll feed you some nice melon soon!

OK so I move on...here's a lovely couple...

One of them is a Hillary fan, the other likes Bernie though...

Action shot of a lorikeet preening...You saw it here first!

The birds like to hang out with people who feed them...

After that shot, my memory card was full! (I was shooting in RAW format)...so I switched to my "old" Sony (which took all the pictures I have ever previously posted here) and took a couple more...

This nice woman let me take her picture and I think it's one of the best candid shots I've ever taken...right before she said "Ouch!"

Finally this...a pair of love birds...
