Heron Swallowing Fish

Finally I put a slideshow together of the heron swallowing a big fish..........you can actually follow the thing down the throat! Not for everyone I assume, since I also have the water moccasin in this blog, and some cute ducks. Click on the link if you would like to see various stages of the heron eating the fish. I liked the photos because you could barely see the outline of the fish as it went down the throat. I have learned that herons will eat almost anything, and sometimes what they try to eat is too big for them.

A couple of the photos in the slideshow are out of order though. Maybe I'll try to fix that.

And the wood duck was a new one for me! The female just looks like a duck duck, but the male, my goodness! I kept going over there to try to find and photograph them. Those babies got bigger every day!
