Photography
Related: About this forumI haven't posted in a very long time but Thank You....
It was all of your encouragement that got me started doing wildlife photography three years ago. I have been working hard at it and things seem to be paying off. I was told that the only way to make any money at it was to write too. Evidently it turns out that I can write..who knew.
I have been published but this is my first magazine article and lo and behold...they gave me the cover.
Thanks again.

(34,111 posts)I remember you from however many years ago it was that you were here. This is wonderful, love the picture!
You should post this in GD too. I am sure there are others who would love to see what you were doing while you were away from here. Congratulations!

(9,000 posts)The nest was about 60' up and I found a spot on the hillside across the river from the nest. A very small window in some pine branches allow me to view the nest. The "window" was so small that if the wind blew very hard the window would close and I couldn't see anything. I followed this chick up until and after it fledged. The really cool part was that the State wildlife biologist invited me to go along on the banding because this was a new nest I found and I kept him up to date with the chicks growth sending him pics.
Actually it was the State that got me started writing. The editor of the State wildlife magazine liked my photos and asked if I would write an article for their magazine. That was the beginning.
