Fire in Southern California.....

There's a big fire off the 91 Freeway, near Anaheim (I think). This is a photo of what the sky looks like just now out some 30 miles from there. There's ash falling and the smokes makes it harder to breathe.

My hope is that the folks having to evacuate are doing so safely.

There's been ash falling in Huntington Beach for hours. The sky got pretty dark until the wind blew it more North or West. It's hard to tell directions from the OC coast because our beaches are kind of South.

I understand what you mean about south-facing beaches. I have the same problem in Monterey.

I thought you were in So Cal? Like in Malibu or something. We met at a meet up years ago in Long Beach, iirc. When did you move up north?

But I have visited Monterey, and since the town doesn't face the ocean on the west, I am always lost there!

Sorry for the confusion.

in 2003 and 2007 before they decided to close the public schools down for a week during each huge fire in San Diego. The ashes were the size of potatoes chips. Several teachers lost their homes too.

and has no water available from anywhere in the state to fight this fire. But don't worry earth, there's no global climate change!

Love, hope and prayers for Cali.

I have a friend who I just learned had to evacuate at 3 am Monday morning near Santa Rosa in the wine country fires up north. Two blocks from her, everything is gone, but her immediate neighborhood is ok.
