Cameras. Our bedroom is decorated with enlargements to 19 inches on the long side from my wife's 12 megapixel Samsung. Because of the small sensor, depth of field is exceptionally good and resolution is good enough to define leaves on trees in the middle distance. I don't know what digital magic is performed in the image processor but dynamic range and color saturation is also exceptional.

What they do best is sweeping scenics like CPeggies' and macro. Weak point is the digital zoom and anything not suited to wide angle views.

Besides, the absolute best camera is the one you have with you . . .

My cell phone camera sure feels like my old point and shoot ones. Very easy to use and great quality, within the parameters you talk about.

And I always have it with me!
