Related: About this forumTonight I got down to the beach, hoping that the skies would be beautiful...
They were OK, but not like last night........but I did get some shots of the sunset and one of the moon that I was pleased with.
Enjoy!

(149,699 posts)Actually, that was the sun setting. I got there in time to see that. The last photo is the moon, which was high overhead.

(118,778 posts)photo. I've always liked it. Was thinking of how much your sun picture was like my moon one and wrote moon instead of sun.

(149,699 posts)It does have a poster feel to it! And to think I never saw it...
I'm glad to share. I feel so lucky, living 10 minutes away from the water.

I stumble around and once in a while I get lucky.

(38,958 posts)And I am far from being a professional. Just a guy with a camera that takes lots of pictures, figuring Im bound to hit something once in awhile.

(22,380 posts)You are getting to be so good with the moon photographs. I'm very impressed.

(149,699 posts)That was just luck! I don't even remember what setting the camera was on. But it was so clear and bright, I knew I had to try.

(29,722 posts)It's been overcast and rainy most of the week. We missed the meteor shower because of overcast skies. So thanks. Looked like a clear night!

(149,699 posts)It's funny--the sky was divided between cloudy fog and clear. It's almost as though a line had been drawn through the heavens, with the fog out at sea, and the clear over the beach.
The moon was in the clear part, nearly directly overhead. I had to lean on a very sturdy railing to point my camera almost straight up! And it worked!

(29,722 posts)you didn't fall into the sea! But how lovely to hear the ocean. I miss that. Sometimes I hold a sea shell to my ear just to remember.
