Related: About this forumRemote control for iphone camera ???
I don't even know how to phrase my question in a way suitable to use google.
My set-up:
1) An iphone x
which connects via bluetooth to:
2) ZhiYun SmoothQ gimbal
3) A Camkix bluetooth shutter control
4) An unused android cellphone not used for anything right now.
So...What happens now is I mount my iphone in the gimball and connect the two using bluetooth. I can then pan, swivel, stabilize, zoom, etc
AND I can trigger the shutter on the iphone using the controls on the gimbal OR using the Camkix remote shutter.
The shortcoming here is that using the Camkix, I can't really see what I'm taking a picture of if I am in the picture also, or I am holding the gimball way over my head, etc.
What I would like is to view what my iphone is seeing on the screen of my old android phone. Is there a way to do that?
Sorry for my long-winded explanation of what is probably a simple question.

(14,559 posts)great bird and wildlife photographer and he carries his cellphone as a wide angle lens. Says he sees no need to swap Lenses on his Cannon 5D for scenic shots when his phone makes fine 13x19 prints.

Reflector for Android turns your Android device into an AirPlay receiver that will display content sent from an iOS device or a computer running AirParrot. It is meant to receive signals, not transmit them. Reflector for Android is available in the Google Play Store.

(768 posts)You should not need to install any software on your iPhone.
You will need to install Reflector for Android (or other app, see NOTE below) on your Android phone.
Finally, you will need to create a Personal Hotspot (Settings>Personal Hotspot>On) and connect your Android phone to the iPhone to create a WiFi network between the two.
To mirror, swipe up on your iPhone to the Control Center and choose "Screen Mirroring" and then your Android device running the Airplay mirror app. With the Android app open, you should see the screen of your iPhone mirrored on the Android phone screen.

NOTE: I just looked at the Android App Store on Google Play and the Reflector app from Squirrels LLC does not have a good rating and costs $6.99. There are other apps such as AirPlayMirror Receiver that have better ratings and cost less. I do not have an Android device so I am unfamiliar with that platform but one of the reviews comments about taking test-run through a trial period before being. The AirPlayMirror Receiver has all 5-star ratings (only a total of 9).
Good luck. I hope this works for you!
