It was a spot just west of the harbor. I'd never even seen a live eagle before that day.

Unfortunately....
It reminds me when:
When it sickened me that the fuck-nut evangelical imbeciles let one of these beautiful creatures loose inside their "church" yelling USA, USA! during a "service" while the frightened animal looked for an escape. (sometime about 2 years ago....sorry don't have time to find the link)
Sadly I believe it died flying into the glass wall of their jesus masturbatorium.

Right wingers are so fucking stupid it hurts....

A whole school-full of fuck-nut evangelicals. But, apparently in this case at least, the eagle was "OK". At least as OK as you can be being a wild creature confined with a bunch of fuck-nut evangelicals.

Thanks for finding the link.
I hope those assholes were embarrassed enough by the pub that they never do it again.

Which reminds me, didn't Cheeto recently water down rules protecting Bald Eagles?

That's GOP patriotism for you.

Those are incredible! Great work! I've seen a young one fly over our pond and scare the hell out of a mallard but only caught him in the binoculars.

Any one of those photos would’ve been
perfect for some Audubon calendar. WUNNNNNderful photography! And the closer - of the little treasure in the nest - I thought - that’s not a chick in there is it? I had to zoom in to confirm. Amazing! What a “photo finish”!

Thanks so much for these, teamster633!

DC Eagle Cam: https://www.dceaglecam.org/

‘Mr. President’ and ‘The First Lady' are a pair of mated Bald Eagles living in the most idyllic of nest sites within Washington, DC, high in a Tulip Poplar tree amongst the Azalea Collection at the U.S. National Arboretum. Last season, these eagle parents successfully raised and fledged their two eaglets, DC4 (Honor) & DC5 (Glory).

With a perfect eagle nursery prepared high up in the Tulip Poplar tree, we are pleased to announce that the first egg was laid by The First Lady on March 25 at 4:30 p.m. A second egg was laid March 28, 2018 at 2:46 p.m. Join us for live-streaming HD video and a Moderated Chat designed to bring you the best that nature has to offer!

May 3, 2018 — Welcome to the world DC7! Official hatch time 4:13 a.m. May 3, 2018. Watch DC7's hatch video! Sibling DC6 hatched at 12:17 p.m. April 30, 2018. Watch DC6's hatch video! This is a very exciting time for viewers of this nest, as we watch the care given to these little eaglets by their parents. We are pleased to report that although our cam streaming is still not perfect, improvements in both the audio and video have been made by AEF and its partners.

Note that there's two cameras, A and B. Night video is infrared, so in gray rendition only at night. It's a blast watching them being fed.

Also check out the daily blog shown on the right-hand side of the web page - lots of good Q & A talk on this eagle family.

Warning! It's habit forming, LOL.

Beautiful photos, Teamster - those are keepers!.........
