I watched two of the baby birds fly away yesterday.

The Daddy bird flew away from the nest and a baby followed. A few minutes later another baby flew away.

I felt such a sense of loss. I almost laughed at myself but didn't. I was truly sad.

The babies started venturing down the flower stems, getting farther and farther away from the nest.

There is one baby bird left and it is hanging out far away from the nest too.

Waiting on his moment, I guess.

This photo was taken just before the first two flew away.

you mean. It’s fun watching them grow up. I always have concerns in my yard wandering cats will get them. For years we didn’t have baby rabbits because of cats. Finally we have a couple and I fear a cat or fox will get them. I wish people would keep their cats indoors like I do. Not much I can do about the fox and other wild animals that pass through our yard.
