For all my images I’m saving in RAW and jpeg, the latter of which I’m really only using for preview purposes. So I don’t really care at all about the quality of jpegs my camera produces and just save in the method that requires the least amount of memory.

I’ve used RAW since the Canon G10. I just got tired of spending hours editing.

The native processing for contemporary digital cameras is quite good. Even lots of professional photographers are relying extensively on their camera processed images.

It’s just not the way I use my images. Since mass storage is pretty cheap, I store everything on my NAS. Even the compact JPEGs are good enough for social media and I have all the RAW versions if I want higher quality.

The issue is sometimes I want a different resolution or crop or other editing attributes. Having the RAW file means never having to say you’re sorry.
