It's about sanity!

I want to introduce myself because I plan on participating more with great photographers as we have at DU, my sanity requires it. The political situation has me teetering on the edge with fear for our country and photography is my escape.

My first camera was purchased on the DMZ in Korea in 1970, a Minolta SRT-101. The second camera was my Nikon F2 in the mid '70s when I did the arts and crafts show circuit in Florida and Georgia for a few years until my day job took over my life and I just stopped taking pictures. During that time, film died and I did without a camera until 2015, when I bought a Nikon Df which allowed me to use my old lenses with a digital camera. I got my old groove back, so purchased a Nikon D750, and time allowing, am taking photos again! I’ve never been a professional, only doing the shows and some portraits and other work for friends.

The photo that won “Repetition” was at Tarpon Springs Fl. and taken with my old F2, probably on Ektachrome, judging by the color balance. Last year’s summer seasonal 3rd place, storm on Tampa Bay was taken with my Df at Ft De Soto Park Fl.

I have some ideas for the next theme and will put those in a poll soon!

Thanks to all who support these contests!
