We were down in the Bay Area last week and I took a bunch of pictures (of course), but here are a few of the bridges. I'm always amazed by the engineering and the beauty.
Here's the Bay Bridge at sunrise

and later in the day as we returned to San Francisco on the ferry

The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge from Angel Island

And, of course, the Golden Gate, here from Angel Island
[IMG][/IMG]
From Fort Point

And from the Coastal Trail

And I have to brag just a little bit. On Saturday we hiked to the top of Mt. Livermore on Angel Island, and on Sunday we hiked from Fort Point all the way over to Golden Gate Park. Not too bad for a couple of "seniors." Gotta love that 75-cent senior fare on the Muni, too. Getting old does have its benefits.

(46,436 posts)Have you ever been over to Angel Island? For all the years I lived in the Bay Area back in the '60s and '70s, I had never been over there until this year. It was spectacular. I'm going to be posting some more photos of our trip at my website as soon as I get everything sorted and edited. I'll post a link here. You should try that Coastal Trail walk, also, although be forewarned -- what seemed like thousands of steps.
