(149,625 posts)I'm not sure which one is your daughter, but all the girls here look fantastic!
You have really captured the motion, and the stress plus the skill of these young women...
Thank you!

(19,373 posts)Funny thing with action shots, although my daughter played the whole game I didn't get any outstanding shots of her. That's the way it goes, sometimes either I miss the good shots by being out of position or out of focus.
Glad you enjoyed the shots I did get.

(19,373 posts)The body is a little wimpy, but the lens makes up for it.
Glad you liked the shots. I have great subjects to work with.

(2,239 posts)If you think the body is a little wimpy still, you can get some great deals on a D7000 if you're looking to stay DX. You'll get an even better deal on that one when the next pro DX camera comes out.
Good Pics. Keep up the good work!

(19,373 posts)The extra 100mm was nice, but the set-up was really only viable in direct sunlight. Cloudy days and evening shooting for sports was horrible. The 2.8 200mm cured that. The main beef I have with the D40 is the focus. With fast action I lose about 20% of my shots when the focus can't keep up. A friend has the D7000 that I've used with my lens and the focus issue pretty much goes away. I've just been waiting for the price to come down some, still paying off the 200mm.

(19,373 posts)It's sure a great hobby and I just enjoy doing it. The best part is sharing these photos with the players and their families. They really appreciate it. The problem with the "pro" photographers that shoot games is they're usually only there long enough to get three or four shots of each player and then they move on to amother game. I shoot the entire game (usually between 400 to 500 shots) so I'm able to get a lot more to choose from.
Glad you enjoyed them.

(18,633 posts)You sure got a lot of exposure with what must have been a fast shutter. Nice job.
At such an event it's hard to stop taking pictures isn't it? There are so many great opportunities for an action shot it's hard to pick & choose only a few.
