Im hooked on the old Westerns on TV..I find myself tweeting...

...poignant and relevant lines I hear. Almost daily! I'm seeing many episodes currently scheduled coincide with current events! I don't remember the westerns being activists when I was younger....but then again I hated them at that age ( my recent taste for them came as a result of me needing to escape the 21st and 20th centuries for awhile!)..actually I'm hooked on all b/w tv..

Here are some of the lines I've captured and shared via twitter...and some I've tweeted directly to trump..

"You amaze me! You make a business out of breaking the law and then you get mad when you think someone else might have. If you've got handbook with your code of ethics in it, Id like to read it"-Matlock ( ok not a Western)

"The International Code of Behavior: keep the light touch always as you say hello and as you say goodbye".......this one came out during the Harvey W mess.

"A newspaper is the mirror of man. Its his conscious and his crusader. Dries his tears for him and laughs at his jokes. Shouts out his triumph and records his failures. Brings him into the world and buries him. Finally to his own death, carried out as garbage"......... 12/17 either Wagon Train or The Rifleman.

"I found out its fun to do things wrong only if you can do things right"-Mark McCain

"If you're going to be a big guy you've got to be a real honest to goodness big guy. See, if you lie you just end up being a make believe big guy"-Ward Cleaver to Beaver ( ok another non western)

"I reckon what you're doing is within the law, but its a mighty sorry way for a grown man to behave".....JD Clampitt

"A petulant and overweight tyrant! All that is needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing. He will use tears or fear with equal facility". .... cant recall source.

Not that I just sit around all day and collect sayings. Tvs on in the back ground and these little bits of wisdom just seem to stand out. They are so timely. The writers back then were genius.

In the DC area, it comes in over the air on channel 14.3. They used to run about three hours of "Walker, Texas Ranger" every night.

Is it MeTV that shows "The Rifleman"?

artifact of the channel repacking. I don't get the new channel as well as I did the old one, so I don't see the Rifleman anymore. Too bad, as it's a good show. Laramie, with Johnny Crawford's brother Robert, shows up on another channel.
