(68,918 posts)My son really enjoyed it. He had never really heard about the Hatfields and McCoys, which surprised me.

(11,770 posts)I'm looking forward to that. I'm not sure how many years it's been since there was a western series... hopefully it's a nice change from the so called 'reality' shows.

(25,252 posts)If you can call that justice. I know it's on the History Channel and being pawned off as history - but with the Trayvon/Zimmerman shooting and the NRA pushing guns and the continuous shootings all over the country I'm afraid that many people will be getting the wrong idea.

(12,409 posts)Can't quite put my finger on it. I think a deeper development of the characters would be helpful. It tells the story in historical actions without evoking a lot of passion for any character. Also, more information, feeling for the culture and circa would connect the story in a way the viewer could identify more with the events. For having such star actors in the series I expected much more. I give it a 6 out of 10.

(206 posts)I was quite engrossed in the mini-series. I knew the basic story, but had to look up some of the information on the families after watching it. I had no idea both families had so many children!

(206 posts)The people who weren't killed--how did they die?
Why was Cottontop the only one who was put to death after the trial with the others getting life in prison? Was it because he killed a woman?
After the feuding ended, how many of the children in each of the families survived?

(50,130 posts)Blah.
After a while, the tit for tat killings got boring and disgusting. Maybe that was the ultimate point -- the futility of the feud; the ignorance of the micro-culture.
