For those who like the House of Cards

there was a British version filmed for BBC in 1990 (and 91 and 92 on assumes since it is 3 seasons). It is also quite good. It made some different decisions than the American version so it is very much its own show.

You should really be worried if they give you a government sex warning and tell you that withdrawl is the best option.

My other favorite line was "I'll have to put a bit of the stick about" when FU was going to twist some arms to get things done his way.

I watched the original when it first aired on Masterpiece Theater and as I have said ad nauseum, it is one of my favorite series ever. I think it is superb. The ending blew me away. I did watch the US version and did like it and am looking forward to the next season.

So far I like the American/Spacey version better than the original British version.

I watched the Spacey one first and am about half way thru the British version that I had never seen before. It's funny because normally I think the Brits do a much better job of it than we do. Just not this time for me.

However, I intend to finish the whole British series and I think it is pretty good. I agree with you that it's very much its own show.
