The acting is fine and even the mythology behind the story is OK. But it's just clumsy storytelling. The commercial breaks come in at the oddest times.

For example, the cut to the titles. Dracula meeting some random lady in a green dress is the image you want to leave in people's minds? Right after Dracula had such a powerful moment right before when seeing Mina? Better that the green dress lady find a way to meet him before he comes in and spots Mina. That way, we go to commercial, our first break from the pilot episode, on a relationship moment and not a story moment.

I'll keep watching it. Hopefully the stories will pick up now that all that exposition is out of the way.

I am not particularly a fan of Jonathan Rhys Myers and I don't like him as the lead.
In certain ways he reminds me of how I liked the series from Starz called Camelot, but hated the actor they cast as Arthur. They took the guy Jamie Campbell Bower, who is just no Arthur in any way.

The supporting cast seems good, from Katie McGrath who was in Merlin, has about the same range as Keira Knightley. She looks like a more curvaceous version too.

I will try again later, but it just isn't in my priorities. Even the Mina they had who played the Huntress in Arrow could have been replaced with someone else since she tends to be wooden in her acting.

Still, the premise is sound, so I may just enjoy it later. I'll wait a few episodes in before starting to watch on Demand.

First, Producer-Creator Daniel Knauf is one of my favorites as a writer....HBO Carnavale' and the last 6 episodes of Season 1 of Starz, Spartacus! Fantastic...

Johnathan Rhys Meyers is is a fine lead actor. He can carry it Dracula thing well.

I sense this show will be build.
