I hated, then loved, the movie Fargo. FX is showing a series called Fargo. I'll be watching. Here's a preview.
Fargo begins on an icy road in Minnesota where Billy Bob Thornton crashes into a deer. From there a man pops out of his trunk and dashes off into the snow before the focus shifts to Martin Freeman as a henpecked salesman who is terrible at his job, but has really nice pens. All of this occurs in the first seven minutes, which FX has released online.
Dont be surprised if you find yourself hooked immediately. The darkly funny opening moments tease a fascinating story to come. Its not the movie, but Fargo the event series has a bloody, homespun charm all its own. Watch the opening moments below.
Fargo premieres Tuesday, April 15th on FX.

(2,351 posts)The one thing that kinda bugged me was when they would say the temperature is negative 14. That is absolutely NOT how we Minnesotans say that it's cold out. We say it's 14 below. Below Zero is implied and understood.

(28,784 posts)I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the work of the Coen Bros. So, I was sort of... hmmm. Is this going to be one joke - it's Fargo - but not?
Anyway, the characters are interesting - love the female officer and seeing Bob O - even if his accent comes and goes. And Bilbo Baggins - who woulda thunk.
Thornton is also great - a better killer, in a way than that nihilist guy... (from The Big Lebowski).
It would be fun to see a cameo by Buscemi.
