I like the format with the idea of Piggy hosting a talk show. That way they can feature music and actors the way they used to but with a modern flair. Many of the jokes have been funny.
However, the idea that Piggy must dislike every female actress and have tension with Kermit's girlfriend is just a bit too much. It's bizarre and focuses on a bad thing. Piggy is self centered but she's not mean and this show makes her look mean.
And then they had to go and create tension between Janice and the band members. On top of that, Janice's voice sounds nothing like the old Janice. Hell, I can do a better Janice than that!
Boo. Hiss.

(28,394 posts)I have not been able to get interested in it, although I enjoyed the old Muppets show.

(147 posts)The show is going on hiatus, but is expected to return, as ABC is devoted to the show. Side note: Disney (owner of ABC) bought the Jim Henson company 10 years ago.
There's also suppose to be a new producer.
You're right about Ms. Piggy's attitude. It's repetitive and tiresome.

(22,000 posts)That is bad for me because Portlandia will start its 6th season on Jan 21, House of Cards comes out the day before, Scandal resumes the 11th. I have about 13 shows. Fortunately I can download them and save them on my hard disk. That is what I'll probably end up doing for some of them.
As for the show, I like it and think the humor is funny. Yes, Ms. Piggy's attitude is repetitive but she's always been a attention pig.
