Survivor: Kaoh Rong - Is this a new record?

If you haven't watched yet, don't read further.

I have watched this show for years so you think I'd know when something was up. Whenever they drag out the reward challenge, you almost always know something happens at tribal: either nothing happens or there is no tribal. Last night, they dragged out the reward challenge and Joe ate way too much of the beef. (I thought it looked great though!) Poor Joe. He got really sick from overeating.

According to the medical staff, he might have faced permanent kidney damage so he was asked to leave.

I am not sure what this means for Aubry. Seemed to me everyone wanted to take Joe to the end because they felt he hadn't done much playing and they could beat him. I wanted to see if Michelle could have swayed Tai or if that was just a fleeting thought. I had a feeling Cydney might have gone with Michelle to take Aubry out but now we'll never know.

What do you think?

"Getting it done at 71."

This 'season' has been remarkable for the brutality of the conditions. Three contestants out for medical? I know a few seasons ago, some contestants were suffering from starvation.

I look at those Survivor challenges over the years - including some of the stuff they have eaten - and I have never had a desire or wish to compete for that million dollars!

Joe slowly trudging along retrieving the bags - and then winning - which in turn led to his reward and abnormal food intake which triggered his physical shutdown - there is a message from the show here.

It's a reminder that these people are participating in a physically dangerous game - for a large sum of money - and a reminder of just what I have been 'enjoying' all these years.

Gives you a new perspective on Richard Hatch and the tax man, doesn't it?

I'm not sure why I am still hooked on this show. I guess I find it interesting (sometimes) to see how people actually play compared to the way they thought they'd play.

I am far too soft for a show of this kind. I cannot stand the heat in any sense. (Film in Antarctica and I might think about it.) I don't like to wear a bathing suit. I need coffee for survival. I am not competitive and certainly not when it involves sports of any kind.

To attempt to be on this show is pretty impressive. Or stupid. Either way.

They don't seem to eat the horrible things as often as they did in the early years. I think the last time was the season that Jeremy won, and he gulped down a balut (a developing duck embryo for anyone that doesn't know). Blech!

I always joke with my husband who, because he had jungle survival training before going to Vietnam can eat anything...and I mean anything, that if we had to do that as a 'loved one' team challenge it would be all over. One look at those grubs or spiders and I would just have to say 'Sorry honey, not happening'! I wouldn't even try it. Not even for a million!

I think Joe was really relieved to get out of there to be honest. I know he had to be in bad pain but I think he felt that he had given it a try and was glad to be going back. Didn't seem to have much of a game other than latching onto Aubry and going along with her. But I was glad that he won the challenge, it was nice for his ego to take that away.

The worst thing I ever did see on Survivor...

was that time they had their hands tied, and had to all run back and forth gnawing on mouthfuls of I think it was a hanging ham, and spit the mouthfuls into a bucket until the weight raised a flag or something?

It was the grossest thing I have ever witnessed!

But then - OMG - Probst said they could take "that bucket" - not the ham, "that bucket" - back to camp for dinner!

And they did!

That was when I said, "Never!"

But I figure if you took it back and cooked it crispy it would be edible to me. Not so with those bugs etc. I can't even think about those too long or I feel like gagging! If fact in my compost pile I often see big grubs when I dig down and I always think about Survivor and.....NO WAY!

In Survivor: South Pacific, the challenge reappeared with a slab of pork. Upolu won the challenge, receiving immunity and the meat in their basket, vegetables, and spices as a bonus reward. Several contestants noted receiving injuries during the challenge, including cuts to the mouth and chipped teeth.

I don't know if cookin' that to a crisp would help me!

there would be three medevacs this season. Usually, I avoid websites that discuss the show. Sometimes the spoilers are not announced. I don't want that.

I didn't like it when she decided to go with them. I hope Cydney gets to play again because she was awesome. She needs to learn to make fire, though!

I have a feeling there was more to this than what they showed. Another possibility is they felt Michelle needed the money more. I dunno.

What did they possible see to think Michelle finished stronger than Aubry? If anything, Aubry got in her own way at the beginning of the show.

I realize it's live and stuff happens but they didn't even give a single second to most of the other players. I guess the Sia thing praising Tai took too long. I felt like the show was a let down and we may have learned more about the jury votes had there been more time.

There really was not much added to what we already knew. It was nice to meet and learn about the head of the medical team, I thought that was cool. I had to look up Sia. So? It was nice what she did but it took a lot of time.

I was also surprised, unless I zoned out and missed it, that they did not do the walk with the torches. Did I miss that? I love/hate that part. It takes so long but it is always kinda nice to be reminded of those we may have forgotten. They did not burn the camp either.

I think it would be nice to shorten one of the last episodes a bit, miss a little bit of the oohs and ahhs over the good meals they get at the end and perhaps do a little more at the reunion.

Don't really care all that much, I will watch no matter what they do but it seemed like it ended poorly with an odd winner and little actually said that was not already known.
